From The Studio - January
Dear friends and collectors,
I hope your holidays were filled with warmth, laughter, and moments to treasure. As we transition into a fresh new year, I’m reflecting on the joy and inspiration your support brings to my journey as an artist.
My studio is brimming with action during this winter season. A few important upcoming dates to consider: a day-long Painting Workshop, several exhibitions, including the prestigious “Masters of Drawing Exhibition” and special Guadalupe Street feature in Santa Fe, as well as small work available at the Autry Museum. See below for more information. I’m excited to share glimpses of what’s been unfolding—as well as the stories behind the art.
It is shaping up to be an inspired year with lots more to come. Thank you for being a part of this vibrant adventure.
Warmly,
Kathryn Stedham
When I am not in the studio, I enjoy being in the great outdoors! Even when it’s a bit colder. Brrr!

Off the Easel…
This painting is of one of my favorite mesas, called Orphan Mesa, and is a prominent feature at Ghost Ranch. I have painted it at least a dozen times in different lighting conditions and seasons. It’s amazing to see how much it changes depending on the light and time of day! In this painting, I recalled the warm reflected light caused by the low angle of the setting sun. The clouds, sky, and mesa all bathed in the same afterglow.
As we kick off this new year, I want to express my gratitude for your continued encouragement and enthusiasm. Whether you’re attending workshops, collecting art, or simply following along on this creative journey, your support means the world to me.
I’m excited for all that’s to come and can’t wait to share more updates, inspiration, and opportunities to connect through art. Here’s to a year filled with creativity, bold expression, and meaningful connections!
Stay inspired, and keep creating!
